Jubilee Potluck

On Tuesday, October 28, we gathered for a joyful community potluck to celebrate Sr. Eileen Schuller’s jubilee anniversary 60 years as a religious sister. We hosted about 90 people—students, parishioners, and even some new faces who don’t normally attend our parish events but came to celebrate Sr. Eileen. We love being able to welcome new people into our community.

The evening began with a special blessing for Sr. Eileen during Mass, followed by a lively meal filled with conversation, laughter, and plenty of delicious food (and more than enough dessert to go around!). Icebreaker questions helped spark connection, like “What’s your favourite season?” and “What helps you feel like you belong to our community?”

During the celebration, Sr. Mary shared about the Ursuline Sisters, offering insight into their charism and mission. Andrew Knight-Messenger spoke warmly in gratitude for Sr. Eileen, recalling his time as her student and a touching memory of a movie shoot on-campus capturing her office light still on at 2 am, a fitting tribute to her lifelong dedication.

It was a night full of gratitude, stories, and joy. We hope that Sr. Eileen truly felt celebrated by the communities she has served and inspired for so many years.
