Happy Father’s Day

Today we want to take a moment to honour and pray for all the fathers and father figures in our parish community.

To the dads who have raised children, the men who have stepped in as father figures, and the spiritual fathers who lead with wisdom and care—thank you. Your love, guidance, and quiet sacrifices make a real difference, and we’re grateful for all the ways you reflect God’s love.

At the same time, we know Father’s Day can be complicated. If you’ve lost your dad, never knew him, or if your relationship with him has been painful, we see you too. These kinds of wounds are real, and they matter. Whatever your experience, know that God is a loving Father who never leaves us—especially when our human relationships fall short.

We often look to St. Joseph on a day like today. He wasn’t Jesus’ biological father, but he protected, provided, and loved deeply. He reminds us that fatherhood isn’t just about biology—it’s about showing up with faith, courage, and love.

To all the men in our community who care for others with a father’s heart: thank you. We’re keeping you in our prayers today.

St. Joseph, pray for us.
God our Father, bless all fathers—past, present, and future.
