Mission Appeal – July 11 & 12

On the weekend of July 11–12, we welcome Fr. Al McGettrick, a Redemptorist missionary priest from Ireland, who will be speaking at all Masses as part of this year’s Mission Appeal.

Fr. Al has spent the past 50 years serving as a missionary in Brazil. Since the early 1960s, Irish Redemptorists have been working in Brazil, and Fr. Al has continued this legacy through 15 different parish and missionary assignments across both urban and rural areas. His ministry has included working with young people, agricultural workers, those living with HIV, the sick, prisoners, and the homeless. He has also been involved in a program called “Life for the Children,” which offers pastoral support for vulnerable youth.

Fr. Al now serves on the formation team preparing future Redemptorist missionaries to continue this important work. We look forward to hearing more about his mission and experiences, and invite you to support the Redemptorists’ work in Brazil through prayer and generosity during the appeal.
