Thanks from Sr. Mary

Warmest thanks to everyone who came out to Coffee Sunday to celebrate my time here at Canadian Martyrs and the Chaplaincy. I appreciated your kind words, your offers of prayer, your thoughtful messages and gifts. It was wonderful to see so many alumnae and former members of the community and have a chance to catch up with you all.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 20 years since my first connection when I served as part of a diocesan team that offered student based retreats on campus.  This was followed by my community purchasing a house on Bond St. where I lived for many years with other Sisters and became connected to the parish.

I am very grateful to Father Gregory, Jason, Erin, Robyn and Deacon Andrew for organizing such an enjoyable event and doing so without me having a clue about what to expect! Thank you to those who spoke so kindly of me during the gathering and to the Catholic Women's League for doing a wonderful job as usual providing hospitality.

I am very grateful to my Congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada who supported my ministry through the years. Their generosity allowed me to be present in so many different ways.

I will continue to call Canadian Martyrs my spiritual home as long as I am in Hamilton and hope to see you at Mass when I return from the west. The years have been full of blessing and it has been an honour to share life together with you as we all sought to live our faith and serve and grow as disciples of Christ. I hold you all in prayer and appreciate yours in return.
