Daily Examen
Last weekend, parishioners received Daily Examen cards and were encouraged to participate in a simple spiritual exercise that has been part of the Church's tradition for centuries. Taking just a few minutes each evening, the Examen invites us to pause, thank God for the day, recognize His presence, ask forgiveness where we have fallen short, and entrust tomorrow to His care.
The card guides you through five simple reflections:
Light – Lord, fill me with light that I may see as You see.
Gratitude – Knowing that all comes from You, for what in my day am I grateful?
Review – Where have I recognized You? Where have I missed You?
Healing – Reconcile me with You and others. Forgive my failings.
Moving Forward – As I look forward to tomorrow: Lead me, guide me, renew me.
If you didn't receive a card, or would like an extra one for a family member or friend, copies are still available on the tables at each entrance to the church.
Even five minutes of quiet prayer each evening can become a powerful habit, helping us grow in gratitude and become more attentive to God's presence in our daily lives.
