Monthly Family Ministry:

PARENTING TIP OF THE MONTH #186 – The gift of faith is a treasure that provides children with a solid foundation for life and benefits them in multiple ways. Faith in God gives them an understanding of something greater than themselves; someone they can depend on to care for them in every situation. It provides a moral compass on how to act and live in their world and how to treat others. It also provides them with a sense of purpose, since our faith teaches that we are each given gifts to share with others in our lives. From their earliest days, reading stories that incorporate faith, praying as a family at meals and before bed, attending Church and participating in parish events all serve to help our children feel a sense of belonging and to understand God is always with them. Children depend on their parents to provide a base of learning that is constant and faithful. When parents create space for faith at home, it will benefit their children for a lifetime. MARRIAGE TIP OF THE MONTH #166 – In a world that seems to be busier every day, it is easy to let time together slip past. Quality and quantity matter when it comes to our relationships, but in order to get both we have to be purposeful. Planning for time together breathes life into every relationship and can take many forms to fit your schedules. Maybe a coffee together one day, a walk together another, praying together daily, watching a shared movie, doing a puzzle and talking as you find the pieces, cooking together and attending Mass. These are a few of the many things that bring you together and create bonding time. Take out your calendars, put your relationship down and make it happen, you will never regret the investment in each other. (From: Teresa Hartnett, Family Ministry Office; 905-528-7988 ext. 2250)
