SEVEN LAST WORDS - A LENTEN CONCERT

This Spring Musikay has assembled a small team of fantastic singers with beautiful voices to offer a Lenten inspired music program. Kasia Konstanty, Anne Kae, and Richard Hansen join our Maestro Stephane Potvin in singing the beautiful and inspirational music. The program will consist of Mass for four voices and Ave verum corpus by Williams Byrd, Oculi omnium by Heinrich Schütz, Miserere by Joseph Rheinberger, Hosanna filio David by Tomás Luis de Victoria, Les sept paroles de Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ sur la croix by Charles Gounod, along with the haunting Stabat Mater Gregorian chant.

Benefiting from the wonderful acoustics of Canadian Martyrs Church in Westdale, the music and voices reverberate in what feels like a celestial vessel. The warmth of the building brings the music to life in ways that the composer probably imagined and likely experienced themselves.
