Jubilee Year Pilgrimage to the Basilica
As part of the Jubilee Year, we invite you to join us on a special pilgrimage from Canadian Martyrs Church to the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King on Tuesday, September 30.
We will gather at 5:00 p.m. at Canadian Martyrs to begin in prayer, with some time to write down our hopes and intentions. These written prayers will be carried with us on the walk and later offered at the Basilica.
The pilgrimage route will take us through Westdale and along King Street, with several reflection stops on the theme of hope along the way. Our walk is a visible sign of carrying our prayers and desires to the Lord, entrusting them to Him as a community.
5:00 pm – Gather at Canadian Martyrs
5:15 pm – Depart on foot (4 km walk)
6:30 pm – Arrive at Cathedral Basilica
6:45 pm – Mass
7:30 pm – Pizza dinner together
8:00 pm – The pilgrimage concludes. Please make your own arrangements to return home, or back to Canadian Martyrs.
Our planned route
The Mass at the Basilica will be celebrated for all the intentions we carry with us on pilgrimage.
Not able to join the walk? You are welcome to meet us at the Basilica for Mass and pizza. Please let us know if you’ll be meeting us there by calling or emailing the parish office so we can plan accordingly.
If you wish, you may also share your hopes with us using the form below, and we will be glad to carry them on the walk for you. Or, you can bring your hope slip with you—there will be a place to add it with the others next to the replica of the Holy Doors.
This pilgrimage is a beautiful way to continue our Jubilee journey in faith, hope, and community. All are welcome—students, parishioners, families, and friends.
Please remember that once the pilgrimage concludes at the Basilica, participants are responsible for their own transportation home.
