Celebrating 75 Years of the Catholic Women’s League
Canadian Martyrs Parish recently celebrated a special milestone as members and friends of the Catholic Women’s League gathered to mark 75 years of the CWL in our parish.
The celebration began with a breakfast, where current and former members gathered to share food, conversation, and memories. A slideshow featuring photographs from past and present CWL activities offered a glimpse into the many women who have contributed to the life of our parish over the years. Old photo albums were also on display, giving everyone an opportunity to look back at the people, events, and moments that have shaped the CWL community.
We were honoured to welcome Bishop Joseph Dabrowski as a special guest for the breakfast. He later celebrated Mass with our parish community, offering a warm reflection on the CWL’s many contributions over the past 75 years. In his homily, Bishop Dabrowski expressed his appreciation for the work of our current CWL members and encouraged a new generation of women to become involved and carry this tradition of service forward.
CWL members participated in the liturgy by proclaiming the word and presenting the gifts during the offertory. After Mass, the CWL also took a moment to address the community and warmly thanked Bishop Dabrowski for joining us.
As we celebrate 75 years, we give thanks for the many women who have given their time, energy, faith, and friendship to our community through the Catholic Women’s League. Their service has been an important part of our parish story, and we look forward to seeing that legacy continue for many years to come.
Thank you to all our CWL members, past and present, for 75 years of faith, fellowship, and service!
