Congratulations Pharoah: 2026 Bishop’s Altar Server Award Recipient

We are delighted to congratulate Pharoah Opoku-Warner, who received the Bishop’s Altar Server Award this week during a special ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King celebrated by Bishop Joseph Dabrowski.

This annual award recognizes altar servers in our diocese who demonstrate outstanding dedication, leadership, responsibility, and reverence in their service.

Serving at the altar is much more than simply assisting during Mass. As St. John Paul II once told a group of altar servers, their ministry is a special way of drawing close to Christ in the liturgy and growing in friendship with Him through prayer and service.

Since becoming an altar server, Pharoah has shown a deep commitment to this ministry through faithful service and dependability, and has provided a reverent example to others. We are grateful for the care and dedication he brings to the liturgy and to our parish community.

We also extend our thanks and congratulations to grandparents Joy and Gary Warner and to all of Pharoah’s family members who have supported and encouraged him in this important ministry.

Well done, Pharoah, on earning this well-deserved honour.
