A Visit from Timothy Kinyua Gatitu, Consolata Missionaries, 4-5 July
Next weekend, we are pleased to welcome Fr. Timothy Kinyua Gatitu, who will be visiting our parish and concelebrating our Saturday Vigil Mass on 4 July at 5:15 pm and Sunday Mass on 5 July at 11:30 am.
Fr. Timothy was ordained a priest with the Consolata Missionaries in 2012 at the Consolata Seminary in Nairobi, Kenya. After serving for nine years in New Jersey, he was assigned to Canada in 2023 and now serves as Associate Pastor of St. Andrew's Parish in Etobicoke.
The Consolata Missionaries were founded in Turin, Italy, in 1901 by St. Joseph Allamano, who envisioned a community dedicated entirely to proclaiming the Gospel, especially among peoples who had not yet heard the Good News. Inspired by Our Lady Consolata, the congregation now includes priests and brothers serving in countries around the world. Their mission is to bring the consolation of Christ through evangelization, pastoral ministry, education, healthcare, the promotion of justice and peace, and care for those on the margins of society.
Faithful to their founder's guiding principle, "Saints first and then missionaries," the Consolata Missionaries seek to witness to Christ through lives of prayer, community, joyful service, and a deep love for the Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
We are grateful to Fr. Timothy for joining us next weekend and invite everyone to extend a warm welcome. Please keep Fr. Timothy and the Consolata Missionaries in your prayers as they continue their missionary work throughout the world.
