Welcome Sr. Mary Pio, Our New Pastoral Minister

We are delighted to welcome Sister Mary Pio Dessalines, SOLI, as the new Pastoral Minister at Canadian Martyrs Parish. In the months ahead, Sister Mary Pio will become a familiar presence in our community as she works with our hospitality ministers and lectors, leads faith formation and Bible studies, and supports the many events and ministries of our parish community.

Originally from Haiti, Sister Mary Pio was raised in the Catholic faith and entered the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate in 2016. She made her Final Profession in 2024 and brings with her a deep love for evangelization, catechesis, and accompanying others in their journey with Christ. Most recently, she served as a Vocations Minister, helping young people discern God's call in their lives.

Throughout her ministry, Sister Mary Pio has served in parishes, schools, and senior care settings, accompanying children, youth, young adults, and seniors as they deepen their relationship with Christ. Her joy, generosity, and commitment to building Christian community will be a wonderful blessing to our parish.

Please join us in giving Sister Mary Pio a warm welcome to Canadian Martyrs. We invite you to introduce yourself after Mass or at one of our parish events in the weeks ahead, and to keep her in your prayers as she begins this new chapter of ministry within our community.
