A Great Start to Our School Masses
Last Thursday, we welcomed the students of Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School back to the church for our first school Mass of the new school year.
The student choir sang beautifully, our student readers did a wonderful job, and all the students participated thoughtfully in the prayers and responses. It was a joy to see the school community gathered together in prayer once again.
In his homily, Fr. Gregory encouraged the students to begin the new school year with gratitude, remembering the highlights of their summer and the people and experiences they are thankful for. He also encouraged them to approach the year with a kind and positive attitude, ready to support and encourage one another, and to try to see others as God sees them.
We look forward to welcoming the students back in smaller groups for our regular Thursday school Masses throughout the year. These regular school Masses provide a valuable opportunity for students to pause for personal reflection, learn more about the Catholic faith, and grow in their relationship with God. They are also an important part of strengthening the relationship between our church, school, and wider community.
