EVENTS RECAP

1. Inter-Chaplaincy Marian Pilgrimage

It was wonderful to join other Chaplaincies in our diocese for the annual Marian Pilgrimage. Alongside reflecting on the Seven Sorrows of Mary, we prayed in downtown Kitchener with Joe Mancini, co-founder of the Working Centre, and heard inspiring stories of grace and service that reminded us of God’s care for the marginalized. Thank you to everyone from St. Jerome’s for organizing this meaningful time of prayer and reflection.

2. Community Potluck & Sister Eileen's 60th Jubilee

On Tuesday, October 28, we gathered for a joyful community potluck celebrating Sr. Eileen Schuller’s 60th jubilee as a religious sister. About 90 people joined—students, parishioners, and new faces alike—to honour her life of service.

The evening began with a special blessing at Mass, followed by a lively meal filled with conversation, laughter, and plenty of food (especially dessert!). Icebreaker questions helped spark connection, and Sr. Mary shared about the Ursuline Sisters’ mission. Andrew Knight-Messenger also offered a heartfelt tribute, recalling Sr. Eileen’s dedication as both teacher and mentor.

3. Fall Social (inspired by St Hildegard of Bingen)

On a brisk (but thankfully dry) fall day, the Chaplaincy hosted its first Pumpkin Spice social on Emerson street this past Wednesday.  Students were welcomed and new friends were made as we gave out Pumpkin Spice lattes and fashioned rosary bracelets.
